Sunday to Charge Up

 25 April 2021

Despite an ache in my calves, a result of yesterday's hike, I still joined Derrick in brisk walking in the morning. I only managed to clock in 3.61 km while Derrick went on for another 3km. Nevertheless, I'll give myself a pat on the back as the walk was back to my usual speed and I was diligent enough to wake up early to get moving. As I'm currently hypothyroid, I have a more sluggish metabolism so it is imperative that I rev up with exercise.

Both cardiovascular and strength-training exercises are important for boosting metabolism. Since my surgery, I have yet to resume any strength-training exercises although I have started to do some light yoga (moves that do not require craning my neck or arching my back). I think I'm ready to incorporate strength-training exercises.

As today's Sunday, Chef Derrick was in action again, assisted by me. He cooked a new dish today : Stir-fried Asparagus with Prawns and Belacan. Mmm...it was sooooo yummy! Fortunately, he cooked a little extra portion for me to have with rice for tomorrow's brunch in school.

All in all, it has been a fairly relaxing Sunday, to help me charge up in preparation for another hectic week at work.
